Branch Sales & Service Representatives

Starting compensation from $12.00 to $16.00 per hour, plus possible annual incentives up to $11,000.  Sales or banking experience required.

Position: Branch Sales and Service Representatives are responsible for providing superior member service in the branch – ensuring that new and existing member relationships are developed by using product knowledge and sales skills to support the Credit Union's growth goals. All PFFCU staff members are responsible to promote the corporate values of member service, teamwork, commitment, performance and professional competency.

Qualifications: The Branch Sales and Service Representative will possess knowledge of operations of both the sales and service side of the office, and have well-developed communication and human relations skills. Representatives must also develop a superior knowledge and understanding of PFFCU products and services and effectively communicate their benefits to the membership.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of all PFFCU products and services.
  2. Offer appropriate PFFCU products and services to each member served.
  3. Perform the requirements associated with each side of the branch office - i.e. completing membership applications, loan applications and resolving account issues, while also performing all cash-related responsibilities associated with the service side of the office.
  4. Achieve assigned sales goals.

Training takes place at either our Castor Avenue or 4 Greenwood Square location for a minimum of 3-4 weeks, fulltime (8 hours per day).

Telephone Sales & Service Representatives

Starting compensation from $12.00 to $16.00 per hour, plus possible annual incentives up to $11,000.  Sales or banking experience required.

Position: Deliver exceptional member service by telephone while successfully promoting and selling PFFCU products and services.

Qualifications: The Telephone Sales and Service Representative will possess proven customer service and sales skills; strong verbal communication skills; and a strong desire to help others. Representatives must develop a superior knowledge and understanding of PFFCU products and services and effectively communicate their benefits to the membership. Previous experience working in a banking environment is a plus.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Support PFFCU's loan growth goals and strategy by successfully promoting and selling loan products identified by a cross-sell screen.
  2. Assist all members who call PFFCU for account service. This entails providing accurate account information; efficiently performing account transactions; and/or resolving account discrepancies.
  3. Achieve all established sales and non-sales goals.
  4. Support PFFCU's corporate values of member service, teamwork, commitment, and performance.

Vice President of Advertising (Creative Marketing)

Major Responsibilities
  1. Manage the Product Advertising staff in the design, copy writing, and production of our monthly newsletter, statement inserts, branch brochures, and 3 to 6 targeted direct mail campaigns each month.
  2. Manage the creation and execution of our email marketing campaigns.
  3. Manage the creative design of PFFCU's website and mobile app.
  4. Manage creation and execution of event marketing activities.
  5. Work with the EVP of Marketing to develop a social media strategy for PFFCU.
  6. Work with the EVP of Marketing to evaluate Google for local targeted internet advertising.
  7. Assist SVP of Branches with in-branch merchandising ideas and implementation.
  8. Responsible for obtaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of all PFFCU products, including our competitive strengths and weaknesses, so that PFFCU's advertising is targeted appropriately.

Job Requirements

As our Vice President of Advertising with a background in marketing, you will need to have the experience and education necessary for the position.

Additional requirements for the Vice President of Advertising include:

  • Experience in design of advertising and marketing material (Quark and Photoshop experience, preferred)
  • Experience in developing email marketing campaigns, preferably with Constant Contact
  • Understanding credit union's overall business strategy and specific product strategy to ensure our advertising strategy is consistent
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel

Vice President & Banking Branch Manager

Police and Fire Federal Credit Union (PFFCU) is a $4 billion financial institution that delivers a full range of banking services to our 210,000 members. The branch currently serves 6,000 households with $270 million in deposits and $185 million in loan balances. The Banking Branch Manager must be the team Champion for all sales and member service objectives. Major Responsibilities
  1. Member Service

    1. Motivate the branch staff to deliver superior member service.
    2. Ability and willingness to speak with members to resolve any questions, issues or problems. Commitment to following up with members in a timely manner when these issues are not resolved while the member is in the branch.
    3. Manage staffing levels in the branch to ensure members are served quickly and efficiently.
  2. Sales Management Responsibility & Outside Business Development

    1. Provides guidance and direction to staff to ensure their development through coaching and training. Take an active role in the development of the staff.
    2. Develops tactics to meet monthly sales and member service goals.
    3. Develops and implements staff recognition and improvement plans.
    4. Manage the internal cross-selling programs to ensure staff is taking advantage of cross sell codes.
    5. Ensure all staff members are provided with the training and tools required to effectively sell.
    6. Ensure that staff members obtain the highest level of product knowledge so that they are able to thoroughly explain the benefits of our products and services to our members.
    7. Responsible for their branch’s accomplishment of branch specific annual goals for deposits (checking accounts primarily), loans and household growth
    8. Spends 10%-20% of time developing business with existing members and prospects.
    9. Obtains new loans and checking accounts through the development and implementation of an internal and external calling program.
    10. Takes leadership role within the community as required. Represents PFFCU in various civic and community functions to enhance our image and develop new business.
  3. Branch Staff Management

    1. Monitor branch staffing levels and make appropriate adjustments to balance member service and operating efficiency.
    2. Monitor branch staff performance for sales, member service, and operational effectiveness. Responsible for reviewing this performance during coaching sessions, rewarding strong performance and recommending training in specific areas as needed.
    3. Ensure that all staff members are trained appropriately, especially if any policies or procedures change.
    4. Ensure all staff members are treated with respect and fairness.
  4. Banking Branch Operations

    1. Thorough knowledge/understanding of:
      • All PFFCU products and services.
      • Retail operational policies and procedures.
      • Consumer loan policies and procedures.
      • All software programs associated with branch management and operations.
    2. Thorough knowledge of the branch operations.
    3. Manage the branch in compliance with all established audit guidelines and regulations.
Job Requirements
  • Must be a true leader who can drive a branch team to extraordinary results in sales and member service.
  • Three to five years outside business development and management experience required.
  • Five to 10 years banking or credit union experience
  • High School diploma required, 4-year college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
