Visa Fraud Monitoring
We continue to upgrade our computer security systems to ensure
that your data is protected. Your PFFCU Check Card and PFFCU VISA® Credit
Card have various fraud detection, prevention, and account protection
systems in place to ensure your security. We employ sophisticated
software that tracks member VISA credit and debit activity to spot
suspicious activity so that we can limit a thief’s use of
the member’s card. If a fraudulent charge does occur at home
or abroad, you can rest easy knowing you have $0 liability on unauthorized
purchases when you report the problem promptly.
The PFFCU Check Card can be used worldwide anywhere Visa is accepted. Due
to high amount of fraud occurrences, if you wish to use the Check
Card in the countries listed below, you need to call PFFCU before
you travel. The countries where this additional security
step is necessary are:
Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Columbia, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Nigeria,
Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, S. Africa, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Ukraine, United
Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharja, Umm
al-Quwain).
You may also purchase American Express® Travelers Cheques at any
of our branches as a safe way to transact business in these countries.
The use of our Visa Credit Card is not permitted in the countries
noted above due to the high amount of fraudulent activity.
Verified by VISA
Verified by VISA is an additional feature that protects your VISA
credit card number with a password when you use your card for online
purchases at web sites that subscribe to the Verified by VISA service.
Whenever you use your Verified by VISA credit card online, a window
will appear asking you for your password. Once your enter your password,
your identity is confirmed. For stores that have not signed up with
Verified by VISA, your password will not be required.
Once you have received your PFFCU VISA card, you can enroll
for this service online through VISA's web site.
