Membership Eligibility

All active or retired Philadelphia police officers and firefighters are eligible to become a PFFCU Member. If someone in your family belongs to PFFCU, you are also eligible. Eligible family members include parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers and children of a member.

You can also gain membership eligibility if you work for one of the employee groups, associations and organizations offering PFFCU membership as a benefit.

PFFCU Membership For Your Organization

Employers and organizations can offer PFFCU membership as part of the benefits package provided to employees and members. Offering PFFCU membership is a FREE and easy way to enhance your existing benefits package at no additional cost.

If your organization is interested in offering PFFCU membership as a benefit, please contact one of our Business Development Officers to request information or to schedule a time for us to visit you.

To become a PFFCU Partner Organization, send us a letter indicating your interest in offering PFFCU membership. For your convenience, a template of this letter is available online. This letter should be printed on your organization’s letterhead, and signed by someone authorized to make employee benefits decisions, such as a benefits manager or human resources manager.


Please note that a minimum deposit of $5.00 into a S0001 Savings Account is required to open your account, and must remain in your account at all times. The S00025 (Premium Yield Account) requires a minimum balance of $2,500 to earn dividends.

1. To receive incentive(s), NEW Member must present referral coupon when joining at a PFFCU branch. If joining by phone or online, NEW Member can mail completed referral coupon to PFFCU Membership Department, 901 Arch St., Philadelphia, PA 19107. NEW Members must present two forms of ID, including a valid photo driver’s license or non-driver’s license. NEW and REFERRING members must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for offers. Offers do not apply to the refinance of an existing PFFCU loan; they must be from another institution. One cash incentive is redeemable for each new product and must be redeemed within 90 days of start of membership. Incentives cannot be combined with any other offer. Current primary and joint owners will not qualify as NEW Members. PFFCU Board Members, Supervisory Committee, and employees are not eligible to receive coupon cash bonuses. A minimum deposit of $5 into an S0001 Account is required to open a PFFCU Account and must remain in the account at all times. Offers expire 12/31/2018.
